Injection-molded plastic kit of the British Chieftain Mk.10 main battle tank in 1:35 scale from Takom. It is a new mold with a photo-etched fret, individual track links and decals for several vehicles. The Mk.10 is one of the late upgrades of the Chieftain with add-on armor on the turret; among Takom's releases it differs from the Mk.5/P and Mk.11 versions, so check before you buy which variant you want to build.
The Chieftain was a British main battle tank brought into service in 1967 and in its day one of the most heavily armed and best armored tanks in NATO. It carried a 120 mm gun and was distinguished by a markedly sloped turret front and by the driver's reclining position. The Mk.10 version brought add-on armor on the front of the turret and further improvements; it is one of the late British service versions.
Work with liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish and paint the running gear and the open hatches first. Assemble the individual track links patiently. Apply primer before painting and spray with an airbrush; British Cold War vehicles suit dust and mud weathering with washes and pigments, above all on the running gear and the side skirts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
