An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Scammell Pioneer TRMU30 heavy tractor in 1:35 scale from Thunder Model. It is the towing unit of a tank transporter outfit; the set is richly detailed, with photo-etched parts, chain, cable and decals. The model offers a well-worked chassis, a winch, a fully rendered engine and a cab with doors and windows that open.
The Scammell Pioneer was a British heavy tractor with 6x4 drive and a Gardner six-cylinder diesel engine of around 102 horsepower. During the Second World War it served in several versions as an artillery tractor, a recovery vehicle and a tank transporter tractor. The TRMU30 version formed the towing member of the 30-ton transporter outfit used to move tanks and heavy equipment.
Assemble and paint the chassis, the engine and the interior before closing up the body and the cab. Use thin cement for plastic and clean the flash away gently. We recommend a primer as a base, spraying the main colors with an airbrush and finishing the surface with washes and pigments for the mud and dust effects typical of field service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
