A resin set of spider-type road wheels with a burnt-out (worn) rubber tire band for the Soviet T-34 tank in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. It is not a vehicle kit but a detail replacement for the plastic wheels, which will give the running gear a faithful, worn look.

The real subject

The T-34 was a Soviet medium tank of the Second World War with sloped armor and wide tracks. Wartime production used lightened all-steel road wheels with a pierced disc, nicknamed spider wheels for their shape. In service and when raw material ran short, the rubber tire bands were often missing or burnt out, so the wheels ran on the track on a bare steel rim.

Usage tips

Wash the mold release agent off the wheels, cut off the casting blocks and clean the mating surfaces up. Bond with super glue, and do the sanding with respiratory protection. Render the bare steel rim in metal shades with rubbing, and give the disc a patina of dust and mud.
