A set of printed fold-up boxes from Matho Models with the full-color graphics of bottled water packaging. The sheet holds the flattened shells of the boxes, which you cut out, fold along the marked edges and glue. In a few moments you have convincing miniature shipping cartons in 1:35 scale - a prop that suits a surprisingly wide range of subjects, from civilian scenes to modern army supply.

Use in a diorama

Bottled water is typical of present-day subjects: humanitarian aid, the field bases and checkpoints of modern armies, supplying a shop, a warehouse, a loading dock with pallets or the bed of a pickup or a van. You can stack the boxes on pallets, scatter them around tents or leave them half open beside soldiers at rest. When building, cut with a sharp knife against a steel ruler and score the edges so that the folds stay crisp. Glue with a small amount of PVA; super glue can soak through the paper. The newness of clean print can be toned down with a fine dust pigment and matte varnish, and for field subjects a light dirtying with a pale ocher shade helps too.
