An accessory for a diorama in 1:35 scale: a dug-in German Pz.Kpfw. IV tank in the role of a fixed firing position.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Pz.Kpfw. IV was the most widespread German medium tank of the Second World War and was built in a whole series of progressively strengthened forms. In the last year of the war, worn, damaged or no longer mobile vehicles were dug into the ground and served as fixed firing positions. Only the turret and the upper part of the hull stayed above ground, while the rest was protected by the excavation and a heaped bank. Such a position was hard to spot and could be camouflaged well, but it could neither back up nor change its stance.
An accessory for building a scene with a dug-in Pz.Kpfw. IV tank in 1:35 scale, meant for a diorama. The extent of the set, the number of parts, the material and the assembly sequence are given in the manufacturer's instructions. The preparation of the parts and the choice of a suitable glue follow from them as well.
A dug-in position stands or falls with the ground around it. It pays to lay out the shape of the excavation and the bank before you start painting, and to leave the line where the vehicle sinks into the ground irregular. The exposed and the buried part differ in dirt as well: the upper faces get dust and fallout, the bottom gets earth and impressions. At the end, unify the whole scene with a thin translucent veil of one shade, so that the vehicle and the ground do not look like two separate models standing side by side. Wash and degrease the parts before painting.
Paints, glue and material for the ground are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
