Copper State Models 1:35 German Armoured Car Officer in a Leather Jacket — a figure of a German armored car officer of the First World War in the typical leather jacket, an ideal way to bring models of early armored vehicles to life.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure in 1:35 scale captures an officer of the German armored cars from the period of the First World War. The leather jacket, after which the figure is named, belonged to the practical equipment of the crews of early fighting vehicles — it protected against wind, oil and grease, of which there was always enough in open and semi-enclosed bodies. Copper State Models has long concentrated on the theme of the Great War, and the figure is designed so as to fit in naturally with the armored vehicles of this era.
The German army deployed armored cars in smaller numbers than the Entente, yet vehicles such as the Ehrhardt E-V/4 earned their place in the history of the first mechanized units. The officers of these detachments combined elements of cavalry and technical equipment, and leather outer garments in particular appeared very often among vehicle crews. The figure therefore faithfully fills out the atmosphere of the years 1915 to 1918 on the western as well as the eastern front.
You will capture the leather of the jacket by layering dark brown tones with richer brightening of the edges and a fine sheen, while the field gray of the trousers and the cap should on the contrary be left matte. For the face we recommend laying down a light base and shading with oil paints or acrylic glazes. Small contrasts on the straps and the badges will bring the figure markedly to life.
