Civilian figures are a rewarding element in modeling, because they give a scene both scale and a story. Characters in everyday clothes at rest create a contrast to the equipment and bring the scene closer to everyday life.
Glue the figures with thin cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting, and work the flesh tones of the faces and hands by layering from a base tone. With civilian clothing you can afford brighter colors than on uniforms, and light highlighting of the edges and subtle shading in the folds of the fabric help. Bring out the accessories, the gear of the hunter or the angler, with a dry brush.
