1:35 Korean Road Signs Type.1

Tetra Model Works 1:35 Korean Road Signs Type.1

Korean-pattern road signage in 1:35 scale, that is in the most widespread scale for military vehicles and figures. It is a diorama accessory, not a vehicle kit - the set serves to finish the scene around a completed model. According to the name it is the Type.1 release; the range continues with the Type.2 set and also exists in a version for 1:24 scale.

What the set suits

A military diorama stands or falls on whether the viewer can tell where it takes place. A road sign says that faster than anything else: it gives the scene a location, fills an empty verge and breaks the horizontal composition with a vertical line that the terrain itself does not offer. It works at checkpoints, intersections, village entries and beside a column of vehicles on the move.

Usage tips

• Sink the post into the groundwork rather than just gluing it to the surface - otherwise it looks as if it stands in mid-air
• Turn the lettered face toward the viewer, a diorama is looked at from the outside
• Weather it sparingly: dust and mud spatter at the foot, fading rather than dirt higher up
• Compare the height with a figure so the scale matches - a sign tends to be a little taller than a standing man
• Use the signage in moderation, one or two signs are enough for a scene

Who the set is for

For builders of military dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale, for modelers who want to place a vehicle in a definite setting, and for collectors focused on the Korean battlefield. It also serves as a quick backdrop when photographing finished vehicles, where it replaces an empty white background.
