Responsibility details are not available.
The collector figure of a German lieutenant from the fighting in the Ardennes in 1945 in 1:35 scale comes from the figure line of Black Dog. The German word Leutnant given in the name corresponds to the rank of lieutenant; the place and the year then set the figure into the fighting at the turn of 1944 and 1945.
Ardennes scenes are a favorite among modelers precisely because of the weather: dense forest, muddy forest rides and snow that changes the colors of the whole scene. An officer figure brings an understandable story into such a setting, with someone giving orders here and the others listening. Around it a snow-covered road, the edge of a conifer stand or a halted column suggest themselves, with the figures standing outside and waiting.
A winter scene tempts you into light tones, but that is exactly why it needs strong contrasts; darker shadows in the folds keep the figure legible against a white background. Suggest the snow on the footwear and the lower hem of the clothing sparingly, with a few dots of modeling paste. Leave the frozen mud for the end and apply it from the bottom upward, so that the trace looks natural. A face in the frost takes a slightly cooler tone than you would use for a summer scene.
