An accessory for figures in 1:35 scale carrying the designation Luftschutz Gladiator. A small part for modelers who are building a scene from the setting of the German air-raid protection service.
Responsibility details are not available.
Luftschutz was the name of the German air-raid protection service, that is the service which during the Second World War looked after shelters, the warning service and work after air raids. Its members differed from soldiers in their dress and equipment, and it is exactly such differences that are a rewarding subject for builders of scenes: thanks to them it is clear who a figure represents even before a viewer reads the caption.
This is an accessory for figures in 1:35 scale carrying the designation Luftschutz Gladiator. The manufacturer's instructions give the exact contents of the package, the number of parts and the recommended method. The manufacturer releases the same item in other scales as well, and the line offers a variant of it with the word detail, so a choice can be made to suit the scene in progress.
The parts are small, so separate them with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remnant with fine abrasive paper. Work over a tray with a raised edge, so that a part does not disappear onto the floor. Before painting, wash the surface, degrease it and apply a primer, as on small parts the covering coat otherwise rubs off easily during handling. The right glue depends on the material of the parts and the manufacturer's instructions give it.
For a modeler who is building a figure scene from the setting of the German home front and wants to set it apart from the usual military subjects. A home front scene also needs less room than a combat one and can be displayed in a small space. Figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
