This set of photo-etched parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard serves to refine a plastic model of the American M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage anti-aircraft half-track in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of the vehicle; it is an accessory that adds to and replaces selected plastic parts of the basic kit, so that the result comes across more faithfully.
The M16 carried a four-barrel mount of 12.7 mm machine guns in a powered Maxson turret. The photo-etched parts make it possible to improve exactly such small and thin elements: grilles, brackets, covers, chains, loops and the details of the fighting compartment, which cannot be brought down to the right thickness in injected plastic.
Part the pieces off with a sharp knife and make the bends in a bending tool or along a ruler. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). On vehicles it pays to fit the details of the interior and of the mount before closing up the hull. Once glued, prime the metal and weather it with washes and pigments like the rest of the model.
The accessory comes as a separate photo-etched set. The basic model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
