An accessory set in 1:35 scale imitating the concrete reinforcement of the armor of the American M26 Pershing tank. Meant for a kit, not a model in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M26 Pershing was an American tank armed with a 90 mm gun, which reached the fighting in Europe only at the very end of the Second World War. Allied tank crews at the time commonly helped themselves with improvised protection: they layered concrete onto the exposed faces, or poured it into formwork fixed to the armor. The resulting layer was irregular, rough and looked a little different on every machine, which is a rewarding theme for a modeler, because such a tank differs from the production appearance at first glance.
It is an accessory to a kit in 1:35 scale, that is parts that replace or complete the armor faces of a model. The extent of the set, the number of parts and the kit it is drawn for are given in the enclosed manufacturer's instructions. The parts are not polystyrene and are therefore joined with super glue.
Cut the excess material off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the rest down carefully, so as not to spoil the rough texture of the surface. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Concrete is well captured with lighter gray shades, into which a darker wash is laid so that the unevenness stands out, and finally a dry brush in an even lighter tone on the raised places. The transition between the concrete and the surrounding armor is worth bringing out, as otherwise it merges.
The accessory set alone is supplied. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
