A resin wheel set in 1:35 scale for a model of the Marmon-Herrington armored car. The castings carry the tread of Dunlop tires, and it is by exactly this detail that the set differs from the otherwise identical variant with the Firestone tread. It is not a kit, but a replacement for the plastic wheels on a model you already own.
Marmon-Herrington armored cars were created in the Union of South Africa by converting truck chassis and served Commonwealth units, above all in North Africa and the Middle East. They were light reconnaissance machines with an open or partly covered superstructure and with armament that changed over the course of the war. The vehicle stands on tall tires, so the wheels strongly determine its silhouette.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw, true the surface with a file and use respiratory protection while sanding. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. Before fitting the wheels, check the diameter of the stub on the axle of the model. The lower part of the tire can be sanded slightly into a flat, so that the vehicle looks loaded, and then pick up light dust in the tread.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
