This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter captures the Soviet heavy wheeled tractor MAZ-537G in its Late Production form together with the MAZ/ChMZAP-5247G low-loader semitrailer intended for moving heavy tracked equipment. The model is supplied as a set of parts to be assembled and painted.
The MAZ-537 was a Soviet heavy tractor with all-wheel drive, powered by a capable diesel engine. The 537G version was adapted for hauling semitrailers and, together with the ChMZAP-5247G low-loader, made up the tank transporter used to move tanks and other heavy equipment over long distances. The rig served the Soviet army and a number of other armies for decades.
Assemble the frame of the tractor and of the trailer carefully, so that the rig stands level and the wheels sit down on the base. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, and fit the rubber tires only after painting. An airbrush and a base coat have proved themselves; you will bring the Soviet green to life with a wash, filters and dust pigments on the chassis and the load bed of the trailer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
