Gecko Models 1:35 Normandy Beach Hedgehog Set is a set of anti-tank obstacles, the beach barriers known as Czech hedgehogs. It serves as an accessory for a diorama; it is not a vehicle model.

A diorama set in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Gecko Models. It contains anti-tank hedgehogs — weldments of three crossed steel sections, commonly called Czech hedgehogs. They are one of the most characteristic elements of the beach barriers in Normandy and at the same time a motif that anchors a scene in time and place at once. The set is neither a vehicle model nor a figure: it is a structural element of the setting, placed in the sand, in shallow water or stacked in a heap at the edge of a beach.
A hedgehog is a passive obstacle. Its job was to stop or damage a vehicle or craft that ran into it and to force the attacker to choose the gaps that the defenders covered with fire. On the coast they were set in a belt that disappeared under the surface at high tide. In a diorama they therefore work best in a line or in a slightly irregular row rather than scattered at random — the regularity creates exactly the right atmosphere. They come into their own in harbor and coastal scenes and in a town as well, as an improvised street barrier.
Assembled hedgehogs call for the arms to be aligned precisely, otherwise the whole weldment twists and will not stand straight; let the glued pieces cure thoroughly on a flat surface. In color it is bare or painted steel — a base in a dark color, over which shades of rust are alternated so that the surface is not uniform. Salt and seawater did their work, so do not be afraid of heavy corrosion at the foot and at the welds. Mask the transition between the obstacle and the base with sand, seaweed and a dark wash, so that the element does not look merely set on top of it.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
