A decal set from the Star Decals brand in 1:35 scale. According to the name it is tied to the British deployment designated Op. Telic and to the invasion phase in 2003. It takes in three different types of vehicle: the Warrior infantry fighting vehicle, the Fuchs armored personnel carrier in the specialized NBC form and the Scimitar tracked reconnaissance vehicle. The contents are printed markings for finished models.
Each of those three machines filled a different role in the same operation. The Warrior is a tracked infantry fighting vehicle with a turret and a rapid-fire cannon, that is the backbone of the mechanized battalions. The Scimitar belongs to the family of light tracked reconnaissance vehicles; it is low, fast and serves for observation, not for close combat. The Fuchs in the form for radiological and chemical reconnaissance is a wheeled machine that was especially substantial for the British contingent in 2003, because the expected use of weapons of mass destruction was among the main concerns of the whole operation. The set thus puts together a trio of vehicles that met side by side in a diorama from the spring of 2003, each in a desert coat and with a marking system of its own.
Modern desert coats tend to be matte and pale, so the edge under a decal is easily made out. Go over the base carefully with gloss varnish, then, and work cleanly. The Warrior has a great many add-on covers and brackets, while with the Scimitar watch out for the small flat areas. Once they have dried, use a softener and unify the whole model with a matte varnish. The manufacturer's instructions on the packaging will specify the timing for you.
