Wheels for the Renault AHN truck, 1:35

A resin accessory set from the Polish maker PANZER ART. It replaces the wheels on a model of the French truck Renault AHN, which was driven in German service during the Second World War. The addition in parentheses specifies the tire maker whose tread the casting carries. This is not a vehicle kit: you need a base model to fit the wheels to.

Use

• a replacement for the original plastic wheels on a Renault AHN model
• removal of the mold seam that on plastic tires runs across the center of the tread
• showing the correct period tire tread
• a base for dusty or muddy running gear in a diorama

How to work with the set

Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and true the surface; protect your airways when sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic does not work on resin. Before gluing, fit the wheels dry and check that the vehicle stands level. Paint the tires separately before you fit them; rubber is never black, rather a very dark gray with a dusty cast near the ground.
