A photo-etched set from Eduard for a 1:35 model of the Russian BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A fret of photo-etched metal parts for building a 1:35 model of the BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicle. It is not a kit but an accessory that refines a part-built model in the places where an injection-molded part runs into its limits. It is a photo-etched sheet for military vehicles.
BMD is a family of light tracked vehicles built for the Soviet and later Russian airborne troops. They had to be light enough for a transport aircraft and a parachute system to carry, and amphibious at the same time, so they have thin armor and a low silhouette. The BMD-2 version followed the earlier BMD-1 and carries a turret with a 30 mm autocannon.
Metal makes it possible to show thin plates, grilles and small fittings in a thickness that an injection mold cannot reach. On a low vehicle that the viewer looks down on this shows especially well: the difference between a thick plastic edge and thin metal is obvious at first glance. The photo-etched parts are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), because ordinary polystyrene cement does not hold on metal.
For builders of modern tracked vehicles who want to take a model beyond the level of a box build, and for dioramas where the vehicle stands within the viewer's reach. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
