The Schürzen StuG.III Ausf.G 1:35 photo-etched set (Eduard) adds fine side armor skirts (Schurzen) complete with brackets for a build of the German StuG III assault gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is NOT a model, but a photo-etched detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard intended for a build of the StuG III Ausf.G vehicle in 1:35 scale. The set replaces the thick-walled plastic side skirts with thin, scale-faithful etched parts in brass, including the supporting brackets and mountings, so that the model gains the realistic look of thin sheet metal.
The Sturmgeschütz III Ausf.G was the most widespread version of the German assault gun of the Second World War, built on the chassis of the Panzer III tank. The side skirts protected the sides and the running gear against anti-tank rifles and shaped charges and are a typical recognition feature of the late StuG III.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a mat and make the bends along the etched grooves using a bending tool or two rulers. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or spot-solder them. For a more faithful look of combat service, the etched skirts can be bent slightly or scored as if damaged.
This is an accessory photo-etched set. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
