The make of the tires is the key detail here, because the same vehicle also ran on the products of another German rubber works and the designs differ from one another. The set is an accessory for building, and the armored vehicle itself is not in the package.
The Sd.Kfz 247 was a lightly armored open vehicle that carried the staffs of reconnaissance and motorized units. It came about in two renditions built on different chassis: the older one had six wheels, while the later one stood on an off-road chassis with four. Few of them were produced, and all the more often they appear in period photographs with commanders. The armor protected the crew only against splinters and small-arms fire, so the vehicle kept behind the fighting line and its crew relied on mobility and the radio set rather than on anything else.
Verify which rendition you are building and compare the diameter as well as the shape of the disc, because the two versions differ in this part. The painting is then straightforward: the disc in the shade of the vehicle, the tire into gray with a hint of brown. Fine dust on the lower surfaces and on the fenders joins the wheels to the rest of the model and suppresses the impression of a separately glued-on part.
