PANZER ART 1:35 Sherman Firefly turret with Hessian net is a resin replacement turret for the Sherman Firefly tank with a hessian camouflage net.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin accessory in 1:35 scale, not a model on its own. It offers a replacement turret for the Sherman Firefly tank with a finely rendered camouflage net of hessian, or burlap, which was used to break up the distinctive outline of the long barrel.
The Sherman Firefly was the British conversion of the American Sherman tank, fitted with the powerful 17-pounder gun that was able to destroy even heavy German tanks. The long barrel of the Firefly gave away a dangerous type of vehicle, so crews often camouflaged the turret and the barrel with hessian and nets to make the vehicle look like an ordinary Sherman. This is exactly the look the set captures.
Wash the mold release agent off the part and cut off the casting blocks. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Hessian comes out well with layered glazes, drybrushing and a light highlight of the folds; the barrel benefits from a darker base.
The accessory is made of resin and is supplied unpainted and without the base model. Glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
