A set of masks for a model of the Sikorsky HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter in 1:35 scale. The masks are cut to shape and are applied to the parts before spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sikorsky HH-60G Pave Hawk is an American helicopter derived from the UH-60 Black Hawk and adapted for search and rescue of crews in a combat area. It differs from the base type in fittings for long flights and night operations. In 1:35 scale it is a large model with a big glazed area, on which a cleanly unmasked cockpit is visible at first glance.
Cutting tape by hand directly on the model is slow, and the glazing frames then tend to be unevenly wide. With pre-cut masks that work falls away: the part is taped in moments and the edges of the frames come out the same all the way round. The set is listed for the stated helicopter type in 1:35 scale.
Wash and degrease the glazing first so that a mask holds. Seat the mask in place and press the edges down carefully; that is where paint creeps under most often. Spray the paint in thin coats and let it set before you add another. Take the mask off carefully and rather soon after the paint has dried, so that the edge of the finish does not come away with it. The extent of the set and the recommended procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The helicopter model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
