The B-4 M1931, the Soviet 203mm howitzer 1:35 (Trumpeter), is a plastic kit of the heavy howitzer on a tracked carriage, nicknamed Stalin's hammer.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter captures the Soviet B-4 heavy howitzer of 203 mm caliber, model 1931. The box contains parts on several sprues, photo-etched parts and individual track links for the mobile carriage. The special feature of the real weapon is precisely that tracked chassis, on which the whole gun moved into its firing position.
The B-4 model 1931 howitzer was developed at the beginning of the 1930s and taken into service in 1934. Its powerful shell could destroy fortifications and bunkers, which earned it the nickname Stalin's hammer. So that the heavy weapon could be moved at all over soft, churned-up ground, it was mounted on a tracked carriage. The barrel was fairly short and the gun had a hydraulic recoil system to absorb the heavy kick.
This is a gun on a tracked carriage, so first assemble the running gear and the individual track links, then the carriage, the barrel and the recoil gear. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, spray the surface with a primer and apply the paints with an airbrush. You bring the steel surfaces and the mechanisms to life with a dark wash and a dry brush, and suggest mud and dust effects with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
