E.T. Model 1:35 Soviet SS-23 Spider Weighted Road Wheels is a resin set of wheels with a flattened contact face for a model of the Soviet wheeled carrier of the tactical missile system.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from E.T. Model replaces the plastic wheels of a kit with resin castings in which the lower part of the tire is cast flattened. On a heavy four-axle chassis the effect is especially desirable, because the vehicle is a massive one and on a model it should look weighed down. The castings tend to have a sharper off-road tread and more legible sidewalls than the standard plastic parts.
SS-23 Spider is the Western designation of a Soviet tactical missile system whose launch vehicle is built on a four-axle wheeled chassis with independent suspension and an amphibious hull. The vehicle carries the missile in an enclosed space under a hinged cover and raises it into the launch position only at the firing position. Large off-road wheels with a central inflation system allow movement off hard-surfaced roads.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off and sand the seating face; protect your airways while sanding resin. They are glued with cyanoacrylate; cement for plastic will not hold. Glue the wheels on a flat board, so that all the flattened faces sit down at the same time and the long vehicle does not stand twisted. After applying a base coat, paint the tires dark gray, lighten the tread with drybrushing and add a dust pigment on the underside.
An accessory set, not a complete kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
