An accessory from the Czech maker Hauler for interior dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of equipment but a piece of furnishing. A locker stood by a wall settles at once what sort of space it is, and in a composition it fills an important function: it breaks up the horizontal line of the floor and gives a scene depth.
The sheet-metal clothing and tool locker with doors, a simple handle and inner shelves is typical furnishing of barracks, workshops, stores, hangars and service buildings. It was made of thin steel sheet sprayed with a simple industrial finish in gray, green or beige. The design has practically not changed over the decades, so the accessory is usable in scenes from the middle of the twentieth century to the present day.
Smooth painted sheet is the most demanding surface you will meet in modeling, because it has nowhere to hide a mistake. So give heightened attention to the preparation: smooth the surface perfectly, degrease it and apply a thin, even coat of primer. Spray the base shade in several thin coats and leave it in a semi-matte to satin sheen. Wear is the main source of credibility with furniture - suggest the scuffed places with a sponge dipped in a dark shade and only on the edges of the doors, around the handle and on the lower part where a boot kicks. Rust belongs to the lower edge and to the feet, where the locker stands on a damp floor. Darken the inside of the shelves, so that with the doors slightly open an impression of depth arises, and a small label from a scrap of decal can be added to the doors.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. A base, glue and paints are not included in the package.
