Voyager Model 1:35 stowage boxes for the Sd.Kfz. 234 8Rad, late version is a photo-etched add-on set for a plastic kit you already own, not a standalone model. Flat brass sheet folds up into three-dimensional boxes with crisp edges. The target kit is the Dragon Sd.Kfz.234 series.

A photo-etched detail set from Voyager Model in 1:35 scale. It is meant for the late configuration of the eight-wheeled armored car of the Sd.Kfz. 234 family and deals with the stowage and carrying boxes mounted on the hull. The set follows on from the Dragon Sd.Kfz.234 series kit; on its own it does not make up a model. The boxes fold up from flat photo-etched blanks, so that, unlike a plastic molding, the result has correctly thin walls and lids that look as if they open.
The Sd.Kfz. 234 was a family of German heavy eight-wheeled reconnaissance armored cars of the Second World War. The vehicles were built around a load-bearing hull, all-wheel drive and steering from both ends, which allowed them to reverse at full speed. External boxes for tools, spare parts and personal equipment were among the typical features, and their placement on the late batches differed from the early ones.
The box blanks are the main reason to take this set on and at the same time the part that demands the most accuracy. Always bend all the edges dry first and only then glue, otherwise the last wall will not meet. The half-etched grooves for the bends belong on the inside of the fold. Bend in a bending tool along the whole length of an edge at once; bending in sections gives a wavy edge that cannot be straightened afterwards. Secure the corners with a drop of thicker cyanoacrylate from the inside, so that no shiny film is left on the outside. Before you seat the boxes on the model, try them dry: on the late versions the hull surface tends to be crowded, and it is easier to adjust the position of a box than to gather up four broken-off brackets.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit and is not a standalone model. The kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
