Stuart light tank T36E6 type track 136 links is a set of individual track links in white metal in 1:35 scale from Friulmodel, intended for the Stuart light tank. It replaces the tracks supplied in the kit.

A set of workable tracks cast in white metal in 1:35 scale from Friulmodel. The individual links are joined with wire pins, so that the finished track really is workable and behaves like the real thing. The name states 136 links. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory that replaces the tracks from the box.
The main difference is weight. A metal track sags naturally under its own weight between the return rollers, a detail that with stiff plastic tracks the modeler has to fake laboriously. The second reason is durability and appearance: cast metal holds sharp edges, and once painted it can be polished on the contact faces, so that the bare metal then looks like real worn steel rather than silver paint. An assembled track can moreover be taken off and put back on, which makes painting the model more comfortable.
First rid the links of flash and overflow from the mold, and blow the holes for the pins through or clear them with a needle if need be. Assemble in shorter runs: line the links up, thread the wire through, secure it at the ends and nip the excess off. Note that plastic cement has no effect on metal; make any spot fixing with super glue. Degrease the finished track and lay a primer suitable for metal under it, otherwise paint will not hold on the smooth surface, and only then paint. Build the patina from the bottom: first a dark base and earth pigments in the recesses, and finally polishing of the faces the track rolls on.
The set is an accessory for a model; the vehicle itself is not included in the package. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Protect your eyes when nipping wire.
