Eduard 1:35 Tiger I is a photo-etched detail set for sharpening a plastic model of the German Tiger I heavy tank. It is not a kit but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard intended for improving a plastic model of the Tiger I heavy tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the tank in its own right but an accessory: thin metal parts with sharp relief replace and complete selected plastic sections where injected plastic cannot capture the fineness of the real thing. Typically these are parts that look more faithful in scale when they are thin and flat - grilles, brackets, clasps and small hull equipment.
The Tiger I, officially the Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger, was a German heavy tank in service from 1942. It became famous for its thick frontal armor and its 88 mm gun, which made it a feared opponent on both the Eastern and the Western Front. Its complexity and weight, however, told on its reliability and maintenance demands.
The photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bent in a photo-etch bender or with a razor blade and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), or small areas with a two-part adhesive. Before painting it is worth degreasing the surface and spraying a primer so that the paint holds on the metal.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The plastic model of the tank, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
