1:35 Two US Rangers Team With Bazooka - WW2 US Gls With Bazooka M1A1 Rocket Launcher, Normandy 1944 (Part 1)

What the set contains

A pair of figures of American soldiers of the period of the Second World War in 1:35 scale, armed with the M1A1 handheld antitank rocket launcher, known as the bazooka. The crew of such a weapon was two men: one aimed and fired, the other loaded and watched the surroundings. A pair of figures thus gives a finished scene a comprehensible story, not just two figures next to each other.

On the armament

The bazooka was a simple tube weapon thanks to which infantry could hit armored hardware at a shorter distance. The M1A1 rendition belongs among its early variants. On a model the weapon is conspicuous for its length, and that is why it pays to seat it so that the hands of both figures follow its shape naturally.

Building and painting tips

First rid the parts of surplus material with a sharp blade and sand the place with fine sandpaper, so that no edge is left across a uniform. Fill and sand the joints between the torso and the limbs, if the figure has them, otherwise you will see them under the paint. Before painting, wash the figures in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease them, otherwise the paint holds badly on the smooth surface. Paint onto a primer and in layers: a basic shade, brightening of the raised places and a dark wash into the folds. Leave the faces until the end, when the rest is finished and your hand is warmed up.

Who it is for

The set suits building dioramas with American infantry and livening up models of hardware in 1:35 scale. The paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
