The second numbered figure from Dynamo-Models in 1:35 scale on the subject of an American paratrooper in Normandy in 1944. The point of this figure is to add another figure to a scene, so that a diorama does not rest on a single one.
The airborne units committed in Normandy had the task of seizing key points inland before the main forces broke out from the beaches. The night drop under anti-aircraft fire scattered the units, so the first hours were fought in mixed groups made up of men from various formations. That is reflected in the look of the figures as well: equipment tended to be carried on the body in the greatest possible amount, because nobody knew when he would link up with his own formation. The combat jacket and trousers with large patch pockets, the helmet with its modified chin strap and a mismatched kit are typical of this subject.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry, and only then work with paint. With a pair of figures, shift the shades of the uniforms so that the scene does not look like two identical castings. Paint the webbing and pouches a shade differently from the uniform and dust the lower part of the trouser legs and the boots, because that is where most of the dirt collects in the field. Place the figure so that it forms a clear relationship with the second one, for instance at a signpost or by a low wall.
