Rounds for the American 75 mm tank gun in the M2 and M3 versions in 1:35 scale. An accessory for an open vehicle interior and for a scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
The American 75 mm gun is among the most widespread tank armament of the Western Allies. The shorter M2 version was carried by the first examples of the M3 medium tank, and the longer M3 gun then by most Shermans and by the later production of that tank. Both versions fired the same single-piece ammunition, so one set of rounds will serve both. The strength of that gun was not exceptional penetrating power but versatility: it could send a high-explosive shell at targets without armor and an armor-piercing shell at tanks, and it was precisely that which made it the weapon with which the Allies went across the whole of western Europe.
The set brings ammunition for the 75 mm gun in 1:35 scale. It shows to best effect on a model with an open fighting compartment or a hatch swung back, but it also serves loose in a scene where a crew is replenishing a stock, or in boxes on the bed of a truck.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part, sand the remainder off and level the base of the case, so that a round stands straight. Wash and degrease them before painting and choose the glue according to the material of the parts; super glue will serve universally. When painting, leave the case shinier and the projectile flatter, as the difference of surfaces is more noticeable than a difference of shades. A weak dark wash at the rim of the base and a light lifting of the edges will then give the small parts depth.
For builders of American and Allied vehicles in 1:35 scale and for makers of supply scenes. Paints and glue are not included in the box, unless stated otherwise.
