This is not a model or a kit but a resin accessory for a diorama in 1:35 scale from the Czech maker Firma49. The set depicts American water cans of 20 liters as the US Army used them during the Second World War and later. Water cans usually differ from fuel cans in shape and markings so that the contents cannot be confused.
The cans bring the cargo beds of vehicles, trailers, supply points and infantry dioramas to life. They are a rewarding small detail that gives a scene realism and an impression of field activity. The parts are printed from resin by 3D technology with a faithful shape, pressings and closure.
The manufacturer suggests dipping the parts in hot water before separating the supports, then cutting off the remains of the carrier blocks and sanding as needed; once cooled, the resin hardens again. It is bonded with super glue and painted with ordinary modeling paints. Washes and dry accenting of the edges suit it well.
