A photo-etched set from Voyager Model is meant for a model of the American M31 recovery vehicle in 1:35 scale. It replaces the plastic track covers with brass sheet thin to scale, including the fine stiffeners and hems. The package does not hold a model of the vehicle; this is an accessory for the Takom 2088 kit, which you already have.
The M31 was an American recovery vehicle derived from the chassis of the M3 medium tank. Instead of armament it carried a crane jib, a winch and equipment for towing and repairing damaged vehicles right in the field. The silhouette of the hull retained from the M3 tank gave the vehicle a very characteristic look, in which a tall hull is married to a working superstructure. Vehicles of this type formed the backbone of the technical support of armored units.
Brass is springy as it comes from production, and a longer part tends to come back after bending. Annealing helps: you warm the part briefly over the flame of a candle or a gas lighter until it first darkens and let it cool. That softens the metal, the bend holds its shape and there is no risk of cracking in the etched groove. Do not overheat, though; on thin photo-etched parts a few seconds are enough. After annealing, clean and degrease the part, because residues of combustion stay on the surface and paint would not hold on them. Annealed brass is also shaped more easily into the mild dishing that tends to be common on recovery equipment.
The set is an accessory, not a model. It does not hold the kit of the vehicle, glue or paints.
