A deck masking template for the battleship Scharnhorst 1943 in 1:350 scale from Artwox Model lets you spray the wooden areas of the deck straight onto the plastic part of the kit, with a crisp transition between the wood and the deck gray. Intended for the Dragon 1040 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a modeling accessory, not a kit. The package contains a cut self-adhesive template shaped for the deck of the Dragon 1040 kit. You reach for it when you want to create the wooden areas of the deck by spraying and at the same time keep the original plastic part including the engraved laying of the planks.
The order is the opposite of what it seems at first glance: first spray the deck in the shade of wood and let the paint cure completely, and only then does the template come in turn. Lift the individual parts off the sheet with tweezers or the tip of a new blade, lay them down dry first and check whether they fit the edges of the superstructures, the hatches and the turrets. Press from the center of a part toward the edges; it is exactly around the perimeter that paint most often flows under.
Apply the covering shade in several truly thin coats and spray perpendicular to the surface, not at an angle under the edge of the mask. A proven trick: first spray lightly over the edge of the mask with the paint of the lower, that is the wooden layer, and any flow underneath will then be hidden. Take the template off while the paint is freshly dried, pulling at a sharp angle back along the surface so that it does not take the finish of the surroundings with it.
The template is an accessory to a kit. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
