Masking film for the deck 1:350 for the Italian battleship Littorio 1941 from Artwox Model is a pre-cut self-adhesive stencil for cleanly separating the wooden and metal areas during spraying. The sheets are cut to the deck areas of the Trumpeter 05319 kit.

An accessory for a ship kit in 1:350 scale. The contents are sheets of thin self-adhesive film machine cut to the outlines of the deck areas. This is therefore neither a wooden deck nor a model, but an aid with which an accurate boundary between colors arises on the plastic.
A mask holds only on a clean and smooth base. Free the deck of flash first, sand it with very fine paper and then wash it with warm water and a drop of detergent, or wipe it with alcohol. A thin coat of primer follows, which evens out the absorbency and at the same time gives the film something to hold on to. On bare glossy plastic a mask either does not stick well or, conversely, pulls the paint off.
The bow has a marked curve and the film has to be laid on it without creases. It helps to divide long pieces into shorter sections and glue them with a small overlap; on a hull of this type that is markedly safer than forcing one long strip into the curve. Press the edges down with a blunt wooden point along their whole length. Spray at right angles to the surface, not at a sharp angle, or the air will drive mist under the edge. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has set, drawing it back over itself at a sharp angle rather than straight upward.
