Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the American littoral combat ship USS Freedom (LCS-1) in 1:350 scale from Trumpeter. Freedom is the lead ship of the Littoral Combat Ship class of the same name, with a characteristic hull form and a modern superstructure silhouette. The model is built as a full-hull one, usually with a massive bow and superstructures made up of a larger number of parts; the box tends to hold photo-etched parts, clear items and a stand with a nameplate. The exact contents of the package and the parts count are not stated here.
Littoral Combat Ships are fast American ships designed for operations in coastal waters, where they were meant to combine high speed, shallow draft and modular interchangeable equipment for various tasks - fighting submarines, surface targets and mines. USS Freedom was created by a consortium led by Lockheed Martin as the rival to the trimaran Independence concept. The ship reached high speeds and represented a new approach to a general-purpose warship.
Assemble the hull and the superstructures carefully, so that the smooth surfaces of the modern silhouette line up. Paint the deck and the details before the final assembly, and glue the fine photo-etched railings and the antennas with cyanoacrylate. Unify the whole with a primer and spray with an airbrush in shades of naval gray, pick the panel lines out with a fine wash and keep the weathering fairly restrained, in keeping with a modern ship.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
