USS John F. Kennedy CV-67 in 1:350 scale is an extensive plastic kit of the American aircraft carrier from the I Love Kit brand, a large display project for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of an American aircraft carrier in 1:350 scale. Postwar aircraft carriers are substantially larger than their predecessors from the Second World War, so the finished model is among the largest that can be built for a display case at home. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and you should count on a long build.
John F. Kennedy with the hull number CV-67 was an American aircraft carrier commissioned in the second half of the 1960s and the last large American carrier with conventional rather than nuclear propulsion. She was marked by an angled landing deck, steam catapults, four aircraft elevators and an island superstructure with a characteristically canted funnel that carried the exhaust clear of the flight deck. Over decades of service the make-up of her air wing and her equipment changed.
Proceed in subassemblies: the hull, the flight deck, the island, the elevators and the small equipment. The long hull joints call for filler and patient sanding, because on smooth sides every unevenness shows. The flight deck is the visual center of the model: spray thin coats and deal with the markings of the deck lines and zones in the order gloss varnish, decals, matte varnish. Fit the fine antennas, masts and radars at the very end. Choose weathering with restraint: rust and uneven shades on the hull look credible, but exaggerated dirt on a ship in active service does not.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
