1:12 Lambda probe, Type 1 from Decalcas is a detail part standing in for the lambda probe in the exhaust of a model in 1:12 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small accessory for models in 1:12 scale that stands in for the lambda probe in the exhaust system. It is neither a kit nor a whole engine but a single element that plastic sets usually lack. The Type 1 designation places the part among the shape variants that the brand keeps separate.
The probe is screwed into the headers or into the pipe just behind the engine and measures the oxygen content in the exhaust gases. The control unit adjusts the mixture according to its signal, so on a modern car it has a hand in both power and fuel consumption. Its recognition features are the hexagonal body set into the pipe and the cable running away from it, and it is that cable which turns an otherwise unobtrusive component into a detail whose absence is immediately visible on an exposed engine.
Place the probe according to your subject in a header, not in the middle of a straight stretch of pipe; the position differs with the type of engine, so it pays to find a photograph of the unit concerned. Drill the hole for the body before you paint and weather the exhaust, or you will damage the finished surface. Add the cable from thin wire and run it toward the edge of the engine bay, but leave it slightly slack, because a taut cord looks unnatural.
