The set of pylons for the A-10A/C Thunderbolt II is a resin replacement for the underwing pylons in 1:48. It is made by Aires and is cut for the Academy kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory that swaps the underwing pylons for castings with sharper relief. It is intended for the Academy kit, which it matches in shape and in attachment; the same set also exists in a rendition for a kit from another brand, so it is worth watching precisely this detail.
This attack aircraft carries its armament on eleven hardpoints, and the pylons on it are so prominent that they make up a substantial part of the silhouette from below. Plastic parts from the box tend to have simplified edges and to lack the small lugs and openings that appear on the real machine. The swap therefore shows in every view of the underside of the model.
The Fairchild Republic A-10 came about in the 1970s around a seven-barrel 30 mm cannon as a machine for close support of ground forces. The pilot sits in a titanium bathtub, two jet engines are set high above the rear fuselage, and the whole machine was designed so that it would get home even when damaged. The C rendition brought modernized avionics for precision-guided munitions, and the machine remains in service with the US Air Force to this day.
A model of the aircraft is not included; this is a separate accessory without paints.
