An accessory set from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the Japanese Nakajima A6M2-N Rufe floatplane fighter in 1:48 scale. According to the name these are folding wingtips made by 3D printing technology. It is not a kit or a finished model but a replacement for the parts from the box, thanks to which the wingtips on a model can be rendered as separate pieces and need not be glued in one piece with the wing.
The Nakajima A6M2-N is the floatplane version of the Japanese A6M2 Zero carrier fighter. The design comes from an aircraft originally meant to operate from a deck, where the outer parts of the wings folded to save space. On a model this arrangement is a rewarding detail, because the broken silhouette of the wing reveals at once that this is not out-of-the-box work.
First check dry how much plastic has to be taken off the wing, and only then cut. Run the cut along a scribed line and level the rest with a file so that the mating surface is square. Cut the printed parts from the supports with a scalpel and sand the marks with fine paper, with respiratory protection. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Glue both tips at the same angle, otherwise any asymmetry will be visible at a glance. Stand the model on a level surface while the glue cures and do not handle it.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
