An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary single-engine biplane Antonov An-2 Colt in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Valom, in the version on ski landing gear for operation in winter and arctic conditions. It is a short-run kit with a finely engraved surface, completed with photo-etched parts, resin details and glazing made of clear parts.
The An-2 is a single-engine multirole biplane of Soviet design, famous for its exceptional reliability, its ability to take off and land on a very short runway and its operation in the harshest conditions. In the version on skis it served to supply remote regions, for medical service and for work in arctic and snow-covered regions. It is among the longest-produced aircraft in the history of aviation.
As with short-run kits, count on a more demanding fit and cleanup of the parts. Glue the plastic parts with thin liquid cement for plastic and the fine photo-etched and resin parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). First wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks. Assemble the ski landing gear and the struts carefully. Spray the camouflage with an airbrush over a primer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
