An injection-molded plastic kit of the four-engined Consolidated B-24D Liberator bomber in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Revell. In the package you will find plastic sprues, clear parts for the glazing and decals for period American markings. The model is built with the classic technique of gluing plastic.
The B-24 Liberator was one of the most widespread American bombers of the Second World War. The B-24D version was one of the first to be deployed in large numbers; it was powered by four Pratt and Whitney radial engines with turbochargers, which gave the machine great range. Liberators operated over Europe and the Pacific, and the raids on the Romanian oil fields near Ploiesti are well known too.
Finish and paint out the pilots' cockpit and the gunners' positions before closing up the fuselage, because once it is glued together there is no access to them. It pays to mask the extensive glazing of the cockpit and of the turrets, which makes a clean transition between the frames and the panes easier. Spray the large surfaces with an airbrush, use a surfacer and gloss varnish under the decals. Fit the underwing stores and the landing gear only at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
