This is an accessory to the B-24D Liberator bomber plastic kit in 1:48 scale, not an aircraft model. The package contains photo-etched parts of thin metal sheet intended for the cockpit. Metal holds the sharp edges and thin sections that simply do not fit into injection-molded plastic at this scale, and the cockpit of the Liberator is clearly visible through the glazing, so work done in there shows in the result.
A full set, not a smaller Zoom
For many subjects Eduard offers two levels of etch: the more extensive full set and a smaller pre-painted subset from the Zoom range. This is a full set. Check the particular extent of the package and the number of parts on the box.
The Consolidated B-24D Liberator is an American four-engine bomber from the period of the Second World War. Its characteristic features are the slender wing mounted high on the fuselage, the twin vertical tails and four air-cooled radial engines. The cockpit is glazed and remains open to view even after the model is finished.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel or etch scissors on a hard surface and never break them out by twisting. Make the bends over the edge of a bending tool or over a razor blade, so that they are sharp and straight. They are bonded with super glue applied in a truly small amount, and on larger areas a two-part epoxy helps, as it gives time to seat the part. Degrease unpainted metal before painting and go over it with a primer, otherwise the paint holds poorly and flakes off during handling.
The set is an accessory to a kit, not a standalone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
