Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard captures the late version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-14/AS fighter. Eduard editions tend to be richly equipped: besides the plastic parts they usually contain photo-etched parts, painting masks for the glazing and a decal sheet with several marking options. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Bf 109G-14 was one of the most widespread late versions of the legendary Bf 109 and was used in the final phase of the Second World War. The /AS suffix denotes the installation of the high-altitude DB 605AS engine with a larger upper cowling, which improved performance at high altitude, exactly where the Allied bombers and their escorts had to be met. The enlarged forward section and a lightened version of the cockpit canopy were characteristic.
Finish and paint the cockpit before you close up the fuselage, because that is where the photo-etched parts stand out. Glue the plastic with thin cement and mask the glazing with the masks provided. The late schemes are typified by a mosaic of mottling on the fin and the sides of the fuselage, and an airbrush with thinned paint pays off there. Apply the colors over a primer, and a clear coat under the decals will make them settle more easily.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
