The set brings wheels for the Tamiya model of the British Austin K2 truck in 1:48 scale. The number one and the name Dunlop in the name distinguish this item from the second variant of the same range, which carries a different tire brand. The choice thus depends on which period tires you want to give preference to on the finished vehicle.
The Austin K2 was a general-purpose British truck used during the Second World War, most famous in its form as a heavy ambulance. In North Africa the vehicle earned a nickname taken from a popular song and it remains to this day among the most characteristic British vehicles of that time. The tall box body leaves the wheels clearly visible from every side.
Take care that the front wheels stand at the same angle, otherwise the truck will visually veer to one side. The flattened parts of the contact patch belong at the bottom, and to be safe it is advisable to set the model on glass and glue the wheels on there. Keep the rubber more toward gray than black, because a pure black shade reads flat in a small scale. A dry brush with a beige tone on the edges of the tread will give the vehicle the dusty character suited to a desert scene.
