A decal set in 1:48 scale focused on the color schemes and markings of F-14 Tomcat carrier aircraft of the US Navy, the second part of the series.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a carrier fighter of the US Navy with a crew of two, a pilot and a weapons systems officer. Characteristic of it are the variable-geometry wing, the pair of vertical tails and the rugged landing gear built for landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier. It stayed in service from the middle of the 1970s until 2006, and in that time it went through several markedly different color schemes.
A decal sheet in 1:48 scale devoted to the colors and markings of US Navy Tomcats. It is the second part of the series, so it follows on from the previous set and offers a further selection of machines. Which particular aircraft the sheet covers and which shades belong to them is given in the enclosed instructions.
The surface under the decals has to be smooth and glossy, otherwise air will be sealed under the film and the edges will whiten once dry. Cut the feature out as close to the printing as possible, soak it in lukewarm water and set it aside until the film starts to slide on the paper. Transfer it to the model, settle it with a brush and carefully blot the excess water away. With large insignia over intricate places use a decal softener and do not move the decal any further. Then unify the finished paintwork with a final varnish.
The set will be appreciated by modelers who build a Tomcat in a particular form and want a more accurate basis than the decals from the basic kit. A model, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
