This is a detail accessory, not an airplane model. The set holds 3D-printed exhaust stacks for models of the Junkers Ju 88G-6 and Ju 188A in 1:72 scale. The parts replace the simplified or solid exhausts from a plastic kit with faithful pieces with marked outlets. The set is designed for the Hasegawa kit.
The Ju 88G-6 was the night fighter derivative of the proven Ju 88, while the Ju 188 was its more advanced successor in development. The exhausts are among the most striking details of the engine nacelles; on night aircraft flame dampers were fitted to them as well. Faithfully rendered exhausts lift the realism of the engine sections considerably.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports and clean the surfaces up by sanding. Super glue is recommended for bonding. The exhausts are painted separately in matte metal and rust shades, ideally with pigments added for a burnt effect; they are fitted once the engine nacelles are finished.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
