The de Havilland Firestreak is a resin model of the British air-to-air guided missile in 1:48 scale from RESArm. These are external stores, an accessory for models of British fighters.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a detail set of external stores, not an airplane kit. It contains resin (3D-printed) parts of the British Firestreak guided missile with passive infrared homing, including the body, the seeker head and the control and stabilizing surfaces. It is meant to be hung on models of British fighters.
The Firestreak was the first British air-to-air guided missile with infrared homing, brought into service at the end of the 1950s. It armed the fighters of the Royal Air Force and the Fleet Air Arm, among them types such as the English Electric Lightning, the de Havilland Sea Vixen and the Gloster Javelin.
Wash the parts and remove the 3D print supports. Separate the thin control surfaces carefully and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the body of the missile in the usual metal or light shade according to period photographs and set the seeker head and the markings apart; a fine panel wash brings out the detail.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
