Eduard, de Havilland Vampire F.3 pilot seat for 1:48 scale, made by direct 3D printing. An accessory for the cockpit of a plastic model, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in its Brassin line of 3D printed parts. The package holds a 3D printed pilot seat for a model of the British de Havilland Vampire F.3 jet fighter in 1:48 scale and supplementary colored photo-etched parts. The seat is meant as a direct replacement for the plastic part from the kit, and the manufacturer names the Airfix model as the target kit.
The Vampire was among the first British jet fighters: it has a short fuselage, a pair of tail booms and a well glazed canopy. More of the interior is therefore visible through the teardrop canopy than on most propeller machines, and the seat is the most conspicuous element in the cockpit. Direct 3D printing captures sharp edges, fine frames and a depth that injection-molded plastic simply cannot manage because of the mold. The result is detail that stands up to a close look or a macro photograph of the finished model once painted.
For modelers who build the Vampire F.3 in 1:48 and want to take the cockpit beyond what is in the box. The fitting is simple but calls for a light hand and work with super glue, so it suits more advanced builders.
This is not an aircraft model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
