Replacement resin landing gear wheels for models of the American A-20 bomber in the middle production configuration, matching the A-20C version. This is not an aircraft kit – it is a detail set that replaces the plastic wheels of the base kit.
The Douglas A-20 Boston/Havoc was an American twin-engine light bomber and attack aircraft, deployed during the Second World War on practically every front – from Western Europe through the Mediterranean and the Pacific to the Eastern Front, where thousands of machines were sent under Allied aid. The A-20C version from the beginning of production was among the configurations delivered to Britain and the Soviet Union. During the long production run the details of the landing gear wheels changed as well, which is why the manufacturer offers configurations for the early, middle and late series separately.
This set matches the middle configuration of the wheels – it therefore suits machines corresponding to the A-20C version. If you are building an early or a late variant, reach for the appropriate configuration so that the detail matches period photographs. Fitting is easy: cut off the casting blocks, sand them down, glue them on with super glue. The drawing of the tread and of the hubs will take detailed painting and a wash, which comes out beautifully in 1:48 scale.
